Date night!

So he called me and we talked for a while yesterday just really quick to figure out the details for the movie tonight, and dinner afterwards. I wish we could have talked more but I have friends who I was meeting for brunch, so I had to go. Still, I think tonight will be really fun.

And as per the advice on the last post, I don't think I'm going to take him home... but if that's the case, why have I spent the last hour cleaning my apartment...

  1. I came out to my folks when I was 29, as well, after coming out to my friends when I was 28. I was visiting them, though, instead of the other way 'round. It was uncomfortable at first but we made it through it fine.

Regarding this and your last post, I'll just repeat what I've written in many other blog comments and on my blog (where you'll be linked after I post this):

Sex without love is just getting your rocks off
    Sex with love is magic
Don't buy into the myth that we gay guys are supposed to just fuck and be fucked by anything that comes along and makes our pants tight. Loving someone and getting that love back in return is the best thing in the world.

So, don't jump right into bed when you start dating a guy. Get to know him at least a bit first. Sex is a beautiful, wonderful thing; don't get caught up in the alleged gay lifestyle of relationshipless promiscuity.

  2. Hey, I found your blog via Mr. HCI. Sounds like you went through the same sorts of things I'm going through now. Keep up the posts!

I've added you to the list of blogs I follow now.

  6. I've not got any experience in this category so I can't say much other than: I suppose the casual thing is fine, fulfilling (pardon the pun) for the short term, and once in a while. But do look for relations with more substance once in a while too, I guess.

    Sorry. that sounds dumb.
anyway - hope the date goes well for yu

  7. My comments tend to come a little late, but I hope the date goes/is going well. Don't stress... be yourself.

And the cleaning up... that's called foresight. ;)
