What comment setting to use?

Back from Amsterdam and Belgium! The pics are on my friend's camera but I'll find a good one for you guys soon.

In the meantime, what setting do you other bloggers use to avoid all the crazy linkspam? I thought by forcing it to be registered users it would be fine, but it doesn't seem to be working. Should I go down to just Google Accounts?

Bleh, Cleaning up all this spam sucks.

  1. I've always kept Sethboyardee open to any comments from anyone (which shows sadly how few comments I get LOL) but recently had to switch to the Registered Users category after a couple of anonymous a**holes got on my nerves.

However, it does not stop the spam - unfortunately spammers have Google accounts too - I just got hit with spam on about 20 posts, and boy was I furious having to delete them one by one. Grrr.

But unfortunately yhe other option is to require approval, which means you have to get an email and respond to approve each comment.

Meh. You'd think spammers would give up already, no?
    Cheers

  2. Looking forward to photos. I leave my comments open to anyone and then delete the spam as they come it.

  4. Ha! Really?

So my friend works for the company that does the graphic design for Broadway Bares, and he is straight, so he got the 2 free VIP tix and then gave them to me and chris. I have to say I was a little apprehensive, not knowing what to expect. I thought it would be like a lot of showtunes and some light nudity.

SO glad I was wrong. I can only describe it as the BEST strip club I've ever been to in my life.

Also, at one point, I was so close to Alan Cumming, I could have stuck my tongue out and licked his calf. Would have been totally worth the restraining order.

  5. I allow comments from any user, but still require a verification captcha.

Also, fun times... I need to make a trip to NYC and see a few sights like Broadway Bares. ;-)

  6. haha I don't think you could get as many nice looking men stripping in another setting.

I was on the other side of the stage (not right next to it but maybe two guys away from it) right across from you with my bf.
